Grand Palais Ephémère / グラン・パレ・エフェメール

An invited competition was organized to propose a temporary hall in front of La Tour Eiffel which replaces the Grand Palais, a large historic site built in 1900, consists of an exhibition hall and museum complex located at the Champs-Élysées during its renovation works. It was also foreseen to have the structure used for the Olympic / Paralympic games on 2024 before it is dismantled and relocated to another site. Our proposal was to replicate the original Grand Palais with a paper tube structure, which forms a vault spanning over 35m, and a dome of 37m high. A special attention was paid on the façade/roof design to fulfill the extremely high acoustic requirement. The structure was designed as a fully modular system which allows reassembling in different configurations.
パリの中心、シャンゼリゼに位置するグラン・パレは1900年に建設された歴史ある展示会場および美術館を含む複合施設であり、改装工事で閉館する期間中の代替の仮設展示空間をエッフェル塔前の広場に建設するためのコンペが行われた。仮設の展示施設として利用された後、2024年オリンピック・パラリンピックの会場の一つとして利用された後に解体され、他の場所に移築される予定である。我々の提案は、スパン35mのヴォールト、高さ37mのドームによって構成される紙管構造によりオリジナルのグラン・パレのプロポーションを忠実に再現することであった。非常に高い遮音性能が要求されていたため、屋根およびファサードの構成には特に注意が払われた。すべての部材をモジュール化することにより、様々な異なる構成で組み立て直すことが可能である。
