A traditional library is defined as a quiet place for study, yet the new Seikei University Library defines a new idea that embraces all forms of communication and information exchange. The large glazed transparent atrium located in the center of the building accommodates several free standing pods for gathering and information exchange.

一般的に図書館といえば勉強をするための静かな場所とされるが、この図書館ではさまざまなコミュニケーションや情報交換に対応できるよう「喋られる」新しい図書館のあり方を提案している。人々が集い、情報を交換し、議論をする場としてのグループ閲覧室を 中央のアトリウムに浮かべている。
