２００１年にインド西部を襲った大地震の被災者のために改良した紙のログハウス。建物の瓦礫を土台にして、その上に泥を固めて伝統的な土間床としている。屋根は竹のヴォールト小屋組に既製品で伝統的な籐の網代マットを2重にし、間にビニールシートをはさんで小屋組に固定している。半円径の妻面に籐の網代を使い、ここから自然換気が行われる。

For the people who lost their homes due to the Gujarat Earthquake in 2001, the Paper Log House was redesigned to meet the local circumstances. What makes the India’s log house unique is the foundation and the roof. Rubble from destroyed building was used for the foundation topped with a traditionalmud floor. For the roof, split bamboo was applied to the rib vaults and whole bamboo to the ridge beams, covered by two mats of woven bamboo sandwiching a plastic tarp.
