The L-Unit System (1993) uses L-shaped wooden units joined in a repeating pattern to compose chairs and tables. The use of a single type of unit allows flat packing for easy stocking and transportation. Bent plywood was used in the earlier stages, but in the finished product wood scrap from furniture manufacturers was utilized, cut to the desired dimentions with pre-cut holes to facilitate joint connections in addition to reducing the weight of each piece.
単一のL型ユニットを繰り返し使い、イスやテーブルを構成するシステムである。単一部材を使い、しかも収納がフラットになるため、在庫収納やや輸送が楽になり、コストダウンも図れる。初期案は曲げ合板によるが、最終的には家具屋の廃材から寸法を決めた無垢の木に、軽量化とジョイント用に穴を開けた部材としている。
